MAP Manifold Absolute Pressure - Masih banyak pengemudi yang belum memahami fungsi dari komponen pada mesin motor injeksi yang digunakan sehari-hari. Dapat dipahami bahwa dan dibandingkan dengan motor jenis karburator, motor injeksi memiliki komponen baru berupa elektronik dengan fungsinya masing-masing yang berbeda. Salah satu komponen elektronik motor injeksi adalah MAP Sensor atau Manifold Absolute Pressure Sensor. Biar kita tidak bingung yuk mari belajar bersama mengenai komponen MAP MANIFOLD ABSOLUTE PRESSURE SENSORManifold Absolute Pressure disingkat MAP, fungsinya untuk mengukur tekanan di intake manifold, kemudian mengirimkan sinyal tegangan yang dikirim ke ECU. Sensor MAP hanya bekerja jika ada tekanan udara luar di intake yang berarti komponen ini hanya bekerja pada langkah hisap. Oleh karena itu, ECU menggunakan MAP untuk menandai langkah masuk dan berfungsi sebagai referensi untuk sinyal kalibrasi MAP mendeteksi atau mengukur jumlah udara yang mengalir melalui valve throttle valve di throttle body berdasarkan kevakuman yang dihasilkan di intake manifoldMAP Manifold Absolute Pressure digunakan pada mesin yang menggunakan sistem injeksi D-EFI. Terminal PIM digunakan sebagai terminal output sinyal dari sensor MAP. Vakum di intake manifold terjadi saat mesin dihidupkan, dan nilai vakum berubah saat pedal gas ditekan tergantung pada bukaan throttle.Terdapat komponen silicon chip di dalam sensor MAP, yang dapat mengubah resistansi sesuai dengan tekanan udara dari intake manifold. Tegangan yang melewati chip silikon akan dikirim ke terminal PIM dan kemudian ke ada masalah pada sensorKetika ada masalah dengan sensor MAP, maka indikator MIL Malfunction Indicator Lamp atau lampu check engine pada dashboard akan menyala secara otomatis. Pada kondisi normal, lampu check engine akan menyala ketika kunci kontak ON mesin mati, dan normalnya lampu akan mati kembali ketika mesin telah hidup, namun apabila lampu check engine ini tetap menyala saat mesin menyala maka menandakan ada masalah pada menentukan apakah kerusakan yang disebabkan oleh sensor MAP atau bukan dengan alasan lain diperlukan, diperlukan alat scan atau scan tool.
